What we are doing


The Alusine Multicultural Family Services Programs workshop on basic communication skills improves communication, increases cooperation, and generates greater success. The basic communication skills workshop helps people better understand their communication styles and skills better, allowing them to be more adaptable in their communication, and therefore more successful.

In the workshop
(1) participants will learn communication processes and styles and be able to assess their own personal communication style and adjust communication style to better communication;
(2) participants will learn the levels of listening and personal genuineness; and
(3) participants will identify steps for improving communication skills.
Alusine Multicultural Family Systems Program workshop on assertiveness helps build skills one needs to express themselves constructively and effectively in any situation. The goal is to enable participants to learn to express their rights, requests, opinions, and feelings honestly, directly, and appropriately without violating the rights and self-esteem of others. Participants will learn the principles of assertiveness and will participate in role plays and group interactions that will help them get comfortable with the assertiveness process.
